Jo is a pioneer in the field of Equine Therapy, founding her business, Holistic Equitation, in 2006 after completing specialised training with renowned American horseman and educator Franklin Levinson. Her passion for horses and horsemanship began at the age of 10 with her first horse and has evolved into a lifelong dedication to healing, personal development, and human connection through equine-assisted programs.
With an extensive background in alternative healing modalities, Jo has spent decades integrating therapeutic, creative, and holistic approaches into her work. Her programs have supported individuals from diverse backgrounds, offering pathways for emotional healing, empowerment, leadership development, self-awareness, and personal transformation.
Through Holistic Equitation, Jo delivered programs within men’s prisons for several years and regularly visited disability centres with her horses, creating meaningful and accessible therapeutic experiences for people facing a wide range of life challenges.
In response to growing demand across Melbourne, Jo established her 20-acre property in 2018 as a dedicated healing and learning space. From this unique environment, Jo facilitated Equine Therapy, leadership and personal development programs, sound healing, meditation, art therapy, respite services, and immersive healing experiences for both individuals and groups.
Jo’s work has supported clients and organisations including Anglicare, Refuge Victoria, Worawa Aboriginal College, Steiner schools, NDIS participants, Victims of Crime programs, and women and men seeking both professional and personal growth.
Alongside her therapeutic and healing work, Jo is also a qualified graphic designer with more than 20 years of experience working at a state level in marketing, strategic planning, and communications. Her professional background includes developing communication strategies, branding, and creative direction across a range of industries, bringing both creativity and strategic vision to her multifaceted career.
Jo has been an educational speaker and teacher at many conferences including the Cosmic Consciousness Conference. She is a mother, a wife and values all her relationships. She spent many years as an animal and wildlife rescuer and has been a prolific music and content creator developing many programs, writing books, articles, workshops and teaching tools to help make the world a better place for all sentient life.
Now located in Glenreagh NSW, Jo is now offering a range of programs for individuals and small groups
Jo is a Qualified Equine Therapist, Graphic Designer, Neurographica Art therapy Specialist, Mindfulness Instructor, Sound Healer and EFT practitioner.
